POETA and its poetic universe will take you on a journey of self-exploration and self-discovery; an intense moment suspended in time and space, immersing you in the tradition of flamenco – an art so bewitching and powerful – and its modern, authentic interpretation.

Co-produced by SceneOff asbl/vzw and SoleArte asbl, the album POETA combines the voice, guitar, electronic pianos and percussion of Esteban Murillo with the enchanting guitars of Dani Barba Moreno and Anthony Carrubba ‘El Carru’, the subtle bass of Serge Dacosse and, on stage, the grace and elegance of dancer Federico Ordoñez. As for the lyrics, some are taken from the traditional flamenco repertoire, while others have been written by Esteban Murillo and Federico Ordoñez.

Esteban Murillo is only 29 years old, but flamenco has been running through his veins since he was a child, a passion instilled in him by his grandfather Paco, who immigrated to Belgium to work in the mines.
​
Featuring song, dance, narration and images, with the excellent Dani BARBA MORENO on guitar and the magnetic Federico ORDOÑEZ on dance, POETA promises to be an intense plunge into the poetic world of flamenco. A complete show, conceived with both strength and subtlety. A unique moment to listen to and watch, suspended in time and space.

POETA is undoubtedly Esteban Murillo's most personal, even introspective, project, an intimate journey alongside the artist who shares with us his deep relationship with flamenco, between authenticity and modernity, between respect for tradition and a desire to open up this powerful and spellbinding art to more contemporary sounds.

POETA is also part of an Asspropro/Propulse tour that took in Chênée, Rixensart, Amay, Charleroi, Brussels, Perwez, Mouscron, Bertrix, Auvelais, Nassogne and Beloeil.
